Ever-evolving stage for learning with tradition and innovation
Kitagata Campus opened more than a half century ago, when the university was established. Since then, the campus has provided students of four faculties in cultural and social areas with ideal environments for advanced academic research and studies. Meanwhile, the campus has also offered various flexible programs to meet the diversified academic needs of business people and the public.
In addition to the 14-story (above the ground) Main Tower, equipped with the latest technologies, the campus also has a Library, a Center for Information Technology and Management, which offers IT-related services and a Center for International Education & Exchange, which helps students from overseas build friendships and networks with Japanese students and the public. In maintaining the university's traditional approach of always working to achieve something new and innovative, the campus continues working to further improve its systems, environments and facilities for future development and advancement.
The building is 79.26 meters high, with one story below ground and 14 stories above ground. One of the tallest university buildings in Kyushu, the Main Tower provides efficient and comfortable learning environments and facilities, which symbolizes the university's untiring endeavor to achieve higher knowledge and intelligence. The Tower has a large special room with a trilingual simultaneous interpretation facility, classrooms, CALL rooms, workshop rooms, Center for Information Technology and Management, multipurpose hall and many other facilities equipped with the latest education and information technologies. On the basement floor, an open and spacious hall with a vaulted ceiling offers students abundant learning equipment, such as desks and PCs. There is also a cafeteria, where students can enjoy discussions over snacks and drinks.
Library Boasts an abundant collection of books and specialized publications in various areas. Facilities with sophisticated telecommunication technologies are also available at the library. |
Gymnasium cum Lecture Hall Is used as a main facility for sports classes and other health management subjects of basic education programs. Important events, such as entrance and conferment ceremonies, are also held in the Hall, which can accommodate one thousand and several hundred persons. |
Welfare Hall A recreational space consisting of a CO-OP restaurant (1F) and Student Hall (2F). The restaurant offers a wide variety of wholesome dishes at reasonable prices, to support healthy student life. |
Co-op Store This shop, located in the basement of the Main Tower, offers a wide variety of items necessary for student life, including textbooks, stationary, books and PCs. |
Center for International Education & Exchange In the Kitagata Campus, programs for learning English and other languages are proactively promoted to help students develop the skills and mindset needed to play active roles in the international community. The center also provides students with opportunities to communicate with students from overseas. |
Graduate Schools Offer specialized curriculums for the application of theories and knowledge in various areas. The Graduate Schools offer master courses in Foreign Languages and Cultures, Laws, Economics, Human Relations and Culture, Business Administration, and Social System Studies. |
